Hazelwood and Churchill (Victoria, Australia) local Girl Guide information noticeboard.

2007 Thinking Day was Old fashioned Sports Day

The Guides had planned this day. They had gone about inviting their friends so that they too could share in the fun they were going to have.

Different games that had been available to play fifty years ago when the Hazelwood Guide Unit first began were checked out weeks before the actual day. Now the Guides were sure about what and how to play the various activities.  These activities were divided to small patrol like activities and larger unit activities.

Firstly there was frizbie throwing and elastics while some Guides went inside to get the skipping ropes.

Then came the soccer moving on to the sack races.  As it turned out Kick ball also got played for a few minutes.

The egg and spoon race was messy.  The program ended with Simon Say’s and the horse shoe and taps.

The leaders and the Gipp’s Guides were there to help the Guides run the program
