Hazelwood and Churchill (Victoria, Australia) local Girl Guide information noticeboard.

Patrol fires

You will need open space where many small fires can be lit.

Each patrol has to come up with safety measures and put these into place before the activity even starts.

Leaders must check the safety aspects before matches are given out.

Give each P.L. a box of matches and a time at which every member of her patrol must have a fire burning.

Every guide has a chance of making a fire, and the P.L. must organise as she thinks best — light them all together.

Challenger is that the fires must not be lit for more than 1 minute before they start to burn down into ash.

The fires must also fit onto the base of a small tin can turned up side down.
